Fossil
Lagerstatten: Wheeler Shale, Millard County, Utah
To
our knowledge, this Cambrian-time fossil algae hasn't been described.
It occurs in the uppermost part of the Wheeler Shale, and is commonly
found in association with the Eocrinoid Gogia spiralis. They usually
have an " X " shape, but sometimes a " Y " shape
or occur as a curved single strand. Th specimen is unusual for the
Wheeler Shale in having such excellent contrast.
