Laethoprusia New Lichid Oklahoma Trilobite

Fossil Site: Haragan Formation, Coal County, Oklahoma


Laethoprusia Lichida Oklahoma Trilobite This is a new species of Lichid trilobite discovered in July, 2007 in the Haragan Formation. The genera is also known from the nearby Bois d'Arc formation, but only from a couple of disarticulated and distorted specimens. The trilobite was found and prepared by Robert Carroll. It is anticipated that the specimen will included in Riccardo Levi-Setti's 3rd edition of his book, "Trilobites". Note the trilobite's placement in Order Lichida is Obvious by the tell-tell traits of spinosity and postulous exoskeleton.
