This
plate displays a fine specimen of a trilobite only rarely seen known
as Maurotarion chrisyi. This is in ventral position, showing the
hypostome (anchor for mouthparts) as well as the cephalic and pygidial
doublures. The raised eyes typical of the genus can also be seen
from below in this meticulously-prepared specimen. While there has
been slight displacement of the pygidium, the dramtically-elongated
genal spines are complete and tightly attached, making for a wonderful
example of this unusual taxon.
