Scenella Burgess Shale Mollusc FossilThe domed shell of Scenella is a relatively common fossil of the Burgess Shale Fauna that was assigned by Walcott to the monoplacophoran genus Scenella. More recently, some Scenella have been reinterpreted as a by-the-wind sailor or floating coelenterate much like the Portuguese Man-of-War.
