This
trilobite is a member of the Order Lichida from the Silurian Liten
Formation deposits near Lodenice, Czech Republic known as Leonaspis
roemeri. As an Odontopleurid, it has some fine company in Koneprusia,
Dicranurus, and Ceratonurus -- all dramatic in their own right.
It has related taxa found in both Oklahoma and Morocco, but these
are from younger Devonian strata. This unusual specimen is 13 mm
long in length, and 12 mm wide at the outswept genals. It is well-positioned
on its 2.3 inch by 1.9 inch matrix base. There is much of the original
exoskeleton present, with some erosion to the cranidium.
