Liten Formation, Kosov, Czech Republic
This
is a particularly well preserved specimen of a member of the Order
Proetida, Family Aulacopleuridae, known as Aulacopleura koninicki.
Not that essentially all of the exoskeleton is preserved as a rich
white patina that contrasts well with the dark matrix. Some examples
of this trilobite have been found in Africa and Greenland, showing
that it had a more global range than many others from the region
of the Czech Republic.
