Rhinobatos
hakelensis
|
Description: A rarely seen member of the Order Rajiformes, Family Rhinobatidae, it is a member of the cartilaginous fishes known as "guitar fish" due to its body shape. While this particular species when extinct by the end of the Cretaceous, the genus has lived on into the present. Also see: Other Class Chondrichthyes Fish Fossils |
